We provide a complete range of audit, review and compilation services for commercial businesses in many industries and a variety of different types of tax exempt organizations.
Our audit services include annual or special audits, assistance in the preparation of reports to be filed with regulatory agencies, and compilation and reviews of unaudited financial statements. We supplement our financial statement reports with management letters offering recommendations for improved operations, stronger financial structure, and improved accounting and administrative controls.
Our audit services are a significant part of our practice and include conventional audits of commercial enterprises and not-for-profit organizations; audits required under the Single Audit Act, HUD, and ERISA; audits for labor organizations and employee benefit plans, (including multiemployer benefit plans); and special purpose compliance audits.
A considerable portion of our special purpose compliance audits include audits for multiemployer benefit funds and labor organizations to ensure that benefit and other payments are in accordance with terms of collective bargaining and other contractual agreements. As part of these services, we also provide compliance audits under Article 3A of the New York State Lien Law requiring the segregation of receipts and payments for construction contracts treated as trust funds. We also provide support to the employee benefit funds' legal counsel in review of employers' records during discovery phase of pending legal actions against contributing employers and other procedures required to prove and document litigated issues.
We are dedicated to providing quality services to employee benefit plans. To demonstrate this commitment, we are a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center (EBPAQC), which requires the firm to demonstrate a commitment to employee benefit plan audit quality by establishing a program to ensure that all ERISA employee benefit plan audit engagement personnel possess current knowledge of applicable professional standards, rules and regulations for ERISA employee benefit plan audits and establishing policies and procedures specific to the firms ERISA employee benefit plan audits.
In conjunction with these accounting and auditing services, we prepare all required returns (Forms 990, 5500, LM-2, PBGC-1, SF-SAC, etc.) due for filing with the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, PBGC, HUD and various state and other authorities.
